Work starts on £11.8m housing scheme

Work is underway on a £11.8m housing scheme in a Cheshire town.

Your Housing Group has started work on the independent living apartment complex for over 55s in the heart of Northwich.

The development includes 70 one and two bedroom apartments including 45 for shared ownership and 25 for outright sale.

The four-storey building on Watling Street, just off Chester Road is alongside the River Dane in Northwich town centre, with good access to local amenities, shops, and transport links.

The scheme will incorporate on-site amenities including a bistro and offer landscaped gardens and parking facilities to the rear.

Your Housing Group became one of Homes England’s Strategic Partners earlier this year.

This development was part-funded with a £2m grant from Homes England which forms part of the Wave 2 funding package – in line with the Government’s aspiration to provide 11,000 affordable new homes across the country.

Your Housing Group is working in partnership with Galliford Try on this project and the development is designed by Cheshire-based architects, Pozzoni.

The development is due for completion in January 2021.
