His business, which is still based in Hazel Grove, now employs 1,000 people, exports to 140 countries and has an annual turnover of £100m.
Steve, who has always remained true to his North West roots, describes himself as an entrepreneur who has had to learn the internet.
He will be talking to the audience about his path to success and how he has built one of the region’s fastest growing firms.
Steve who worked in the music industry for many years, got the idea for MusicMagpie site after realising there was a huge demand for hard to find novels and music.
He decided to launch a ‘modern stock exchange’ which could be used for people looking for collectible music, DVDs, books and everyday technology.
