Courier expands with relocation to new Cheshire base

After a period of continued growth Topspeed Couriers has moved from its operations hub on the Parkgate Industrial Estate in Knutsford to larger premises in Winsford.

The move took place in early April and Topspeed’s new location is a 26,000 sq ft unit on Winsford Industrial Estate.

As a specialist courier on the Crown Commercial Service Framework, Topspeed has grown its organisation transporting sensitive, forensic and dangerous goods from a £1.5m turnover business to £4.5m in just four years.

It works for public sector organisations including DEFRA, The Home Office, Ministry of Defence and the NHS.

Its private sector work includes clients from manufacturing, engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Managing director, Dave Turner, said: “We were sad to leave Knutsford after almost seven years, however, our new operations hub in Winsford will enable us to continue to provide a UK service and give us the opportunity to further grow.

“By staying in Cheshire we have been able to retain our valued team and continue to benefit from the extensive road and motorway infrastructure that runs through our county.

“We are looking forward to meeting our neighbours over the coming weeks and months as we settle into our new home in Winsford.”

The Topspeed journey has always been Cheshire-based. Set up in 1985 by chief executive Steve Clegg in Alderley Edge, it spent some time in Macclesfield, then Higher Poynton before moving to Parkgate Industrial Estate in Knutsford.
