People on the Move: Mitchell Charlesworth, Eversmart, Muse and Assura

North West accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth has strengthened its audit and accounts team with four key promotions and a new appointment.

Louise Casey, Ramon McKenna and Heather Townsend have all been promoted to associate, Amy Taylor has been promoted to manager and John Davies has joined the team as a manager.

Louise Casey graduated with a degree in business and marketing, and then worked for an international bank before moving into accountancy 10 years ago. Louise manages a wide range of large, small and medium sized clients within the Liverpool office portfolio.

Ramon McKenna qualified as a certified accountant in 2008, joining Mitchell Charlesworth’s Liverpool office in March 2016. He has more than 18 years of experience of working with a wide range of small and medium sized companies and has specialist knowledge of group accounts and solicitors’ accounts rules.

Heather Townsend started her career in accountancy with Mitchell Charlesworth in 2007 and qualified as a chartered accountant with the support of the firm. Based in the firm’s Chester office, she advises companies across a wide range of sectors, in particular within the manufacturing and construction industries..

Amy Taylor joined Mitchell Charlesworth in 2011, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2017, and is a manager within the audit and accounts team at the firm’s Widnes office. Amy provides audit and accounts services to a mixed portfolio of businesses in addition to delivering cloud software and digitalisation support and training.

The firm has also welcomed a new member of staff with the appointment of John Davies.

John started his career in accountancy in 2001, initially working in industry before moving into practice in 2003. He is qualified as a chartered certified accountant and based in the firm’s Widnes office.

Lee Dearden

Manchester-based energy provider Eversmart Energy has appointed Lee Dearden to head up its expanding customer service team.

With a team that has already grown by twelve since January 2019, Dearden has been brought on-board to steer further expansion of the team and to fully maintain and improve quality processes in line with the company’s anticipated growth.
Supplying gas and electricity since August 2016, Eversmart Energy now has nearly 40,000 customers UK-wide and employs over 100 at its Manchester offices.

Mr Dearden said: “Eversmart Energy is expanding rapidly by aiming to offer cheaper energy, and customer service quality comes hand-in-hand with that. It’s my mission to work with the team not only to manage our anticipated growth, but also to deliver truly exemplary customer service to our customers across the UK.

Tom Webber

Tom Webber, former development director at Montreaux, is set to join Muse Developments as their new senior development surveyor.

A chartered planner with the Royal Town Planning Institute, Tom, will bring a wealth of experience from across the sector to the North West team, where he will work on a range of mixed-use schemes, following a period of expansion in the region.

Tom’s appointment is a senior replacement for Greg Ball, who has recently moved to U+I Plc..

Louise Fowler

Assura, the investor and developer of primary care properties, has announced the Louise Fowler will be appointed to the board as non-executive director.

Louise has 25 years’ marketing, customer and digital experience at a senior level in the travel and financial services industries.

She started her career at British Airways before moving into financial services with Barclays and the Co-operative Banking Group. In recent years, she has been working as an independent consultant for well-known consumer brands such as the Post Office, First Direct and M&S. She will join all board committees.

She said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to be joining the board of Assura and look forward to making my contribution to this excellent organisation, as well as to their provision of outstanding primary care facilities in the UK.”
