Packaging firm expands into second site

Towngate

A polythene packaging manufacturer has expanded onto a second site.

Initial Packaging Solutions has moved into Towngate’s Business Centre complex in Widnes.

The firm specialises in the supply of tamper-evident security packaging, with its products used by a wide range of clients including banks, cash in transit companies and examination boards.

Initial Packaging required an additional property as a result of increased stockholding following a recent expansion.

The firm has signed a three-year lease with Towngate for the 16,900 sq ft space opposite its main manufacturing facility.

Finance director Lee Childs said: “Having spent several years searching for suitable properties in the local area, we are delighted to have secured this unit with Towngate PLC, which will give us the space we need to continue growing our business.”

Tom Lamb, property manager at Towngate, added: “The space fits Initial’s needs perfectly and I am happy to report that the properties at the Towngate Business Centre, Widnes are now almost fully let.

“We have one remaining unit– a 76,000 sq ft warehouse – and we don’t expect it to be long until we have secured the final lease.”

Towngate was represented by Darren Hill of CBRE Liverpool.
