New bar set to open in the heart of the city

George's Bar and Kitchen

A new bar is set to open this week in the heart of Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

George’s Bar and Kitchen will offer a range of classic and house creation cocktails, a wide selection of craft beers, sprits and more.

An American food truck-inspired food menu will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings to whet the appetite.

Located on Manchester’s High Street, the venue opens its doors tomorrow (June 27) from 11am.

There will be an entertainment programme running seven-nights a week with live music, open mic nights and regular DJ sets from some of Manchester’s biggest names on the main stage, while a wide selection of sports fixtures will be screened across the bar’s large HD screens and projectors.

The live entertainment over the weekend will include a DJ set from Suck It and Spin on Friday, June 28, from 8pm–1am, and 7pm–1am on Saturday, June 29.

There will also be an exclusive acoustic performance from Mike Dignam on Saturday afternoon between 1:30pm and 3:15pm.

George’s Bar and Kitchen is a new venture from the creative minds behind the Magical Christmas Movie Experience and Valentine’s Movie Experience pop-up cinema events.

Joint owner Michael Ferguson explained: “We are extremely excited to bring this brand-new venture to the heart of Manchester.

“We have been working hard to create a venue that will cater to all tastes and the end result, George’s Bar and Kitchen, promises just that, offering great variety and the very best in food, drink and entertainment.

“The cocktail menu will include fruity twists on the classics, plus some amazing in-house creations such as the Sweet Pisco Punch and our Angostura’s sour.

“On top of that you’ll find a wide selection of spirits, a variety of draught and bottled beers, fab wines and more.”

He added: “Our food menu will bring the proud tradition of the American food truck to Manchester. Think big, bold, over portioned and dirty sandwiches, sticky ribs and succulent steak.”
