Telecoms giant reportedly signed up to city centre site

125 Deansgate

Telecoms giant BT is reported to have agreed a three-year deal for office space in the centre of Manchester.

BT has been courted by various property interests eager to cater to its substantial future requirements in the region.

It is seeking between 150,000 sq ft and 200,000 sq ft in the city and has viewed various properties, including Bruntwood Sci-Tech’s Circle Square, Hermes’ NOMA, U+I’s Mayfield and Allied London’s Enterprise City locations.

Now, it has been reported that Spaces, the co-working arm of flexible working space provider Regus, has agreed a deal to manage 125 Deansgate on behalf of BT.

Spaces signed a lease on the whole of the building from landlord Worthington Properties and is expected to move into the 116,000 sq ft building at the end of this year.

It is claimed that BT’s agreement with Spaces is on a three-year managed contract, before BT moves on to a longer term office agreement.

BT is represented by JLL, while Knight Frank, Savills and Cheetham & Mortimer are the agents for Worthington.
