Administrators close Pindar’s Preston plant

THE Pindar printing plant in Preston which employed around 72 people prior to the business being placed into administration last week has closed.
Pindar’s main production site in Scarborough was sold to competitor York Mailing in a pre-packaged administration deal last week. However, despite efforts to keep the Preston plant open and trading as a going concern, administrators announced that production would cease at the plant on Monday.
A spokeswoman for KPMG said that a small number of employees are being kept on to help with the process of winding down the business. Jones Lang LaSalle has also been appointed as agents to sell the company’s plant and machinery assets.
