Planning approval for 164 homes in Winnington

The proposed site

FI Real Estate Management has been granted outline planning permission for a residential development of up to 164 units adjacent to Winnington Urban Village in Northwich.

The development will transform a vacant eight acre brownfield site at the rear of Weir Engineering Services on Winnington Avenue and contribute 164 homes towards Cheshire West and Chester Councils’ strategic five-year housing requirement of 4,800 net new dwellings (2018 to 2023).

The site sits next to Winnington Urban Village and will create an extension to the existing residential provision in the area.

FI Real Estate Management will create a green public open space as part of the development and also make a significant financial contribution towards health, education and highways through the Section 106 agreement.

A spokesperson for FI Real Estate Management said: “We are delighted to have secured outline planning permission, which will breathe new life into this brownfield site, and will fulfill both market demand and the need for more housing in the local area.”

Consultants working on the project include DPP Planning, Saunders Architects, RSK Engineers and legal representation from Hill Dickinson.
