Software specialists latest to move in to flagship site

Exchange Quay

The Exchange Quay office development in Manchester welcomes two new tenants in Building 8 following the completion of deals to software specialists CDS and The Access Group totalling more than 6,000 sq ft.

These latest deals follow on from a number of tenant lease regears in Building 8.

CDS, a specialist in software solutions for downstream fuel distributors, is relocating from its current premises in Ordsall to take 4,700 sq ft of office space on the fifth floor of Building 8 on a 10-year lease term.

The move to Exchange Quay is as a result of continued business growth over the past five years.

The company has grown from 30 employees to 50 and needed more space to house its expanding team and service its growing customer base.

Software provider, The Access Group, will take 1,403 sq ft on the first floor on a five-year lease term.

Exchange Quay is one of the largest office developments in the North West, currently accommodating more than 3,000 people.

Located approximately 1.5 miles to the South West of Manchester city centre, the scheme boasts its own dedicated Metrolink tram stop and is strategically located just off Trafford Road which links Salford Quays to both Manchester city centre and the regional motorway network.

Axel Waldecker, managing director at property advisors Ekistics, said: “We are delighted to welcome two leading software specialists to the Exchange Quay community and to support local business growth.

“Our first-class office accommodation is the ideal base for companies looking for a well-respected address coupled with extensive occupier amenities and facilities that can meet their business needs both now and in the future.”

Graeme Lea, CDS managing director, said: “Having taken the decision to leave our current premises we began the search for a new operating location earlier this year.

“Exchange Quay quickly ascended to the top of our short list, offering modern, bright, well-serviced offices with excellent on-site facilities, alongside a real sense of community and safety.

“Our new home in Exchange Quay will help us to continue attracting and retaining top talent and provides us with top grade meeting space we can be proud to invite customers to.”

Ekistics also recently announced the appointment of Manchester-based Till AM as investment managers to be based within Exchange Quay.

Canning O’Neill acted for Ekistics, CDS was represented by Savills, and Glenmhor Development Management advised The Access Group.

The quoting rent on Exchange Quay is £20 per sq ft, plus car parking.
