Purpose built homes arrive at site in central Manchester

Regeneration specialist Urban Splash has launched a brand new residential phase of New Islington in Manchester.
The scheme has seen the first House by Urban Splash Town House homes arriving on site.
The homes been built in a factory in Alfreton in the East Midlands.
And the construction process has seen each storey of each home transported to Manchester by road before being craned into place onsite.
The accelerated speed of construction means that the 17, three-storey homes in the first phase will be ready for occupancy by next summer.
The development will bring a new population to the eastern end of New Islington on a street adjacent to the New Islington Metrolink stop, the Ashton Canal, the Cotton Field Park, Marina – and just a few minutes walk from the city centre and Ancoats.
The homes offer parking, gardens and other suburban amenities in central Manchester.
Urban Splash residential director Guy Ackernley said: “We are thrilled to bring these new homes to the market, giving buyers in Manchester the chance to own a house in the city that’ll be ready to move into next summer.
“Boasting all of the perks of suburbia, these spacious family homes will keep a multitude of buyers in the city – people whose needs haven’t necessarily been catered for with Manchester’s urban offering of old.”
The Town House homes offer a number of flexible layouts, high ceilings, oversized windows and generous living space.
Each home has a private terrace, car parking, as well as access to the Piercy Street communal garden – a shared space for residents overlooking the Ashton Canal.
Urban Splash is also onsite building the innovative Mansion House apartments by New Islington Marina, as well as the city’s largest apartments at Avro on Great Ancoats Street – homes which will all be available for occupation within the next year to 18 months.
Some of the final homes will then arrive at New Islington next year with the launch of customisable Town House homes at Stubbs Mews which can be built to customer specifications.
Guy added: “We’re creating a real mix of new homes around Ancoats and New Islington and still have more up our sleeve for January.
“If you’re looking to move into this thriving part of the city, we’ve probably got a property to suit you; the best part being the majority of them will be ready next year, perfect for keen buyers who want to establish themselves in an urban neighbourhood filled with suburban perks.”
