Greengate

A scheme to build Salford’s tallest ever tower block have been approved by planning officials.

Hong Kong based developer One Heritage’s has been granted approval for the residential tower in Greengate by Salford City Council’s Planning Committee.

The 55-storey residential development will be the tallest in Salford and will include one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as shops and major public realm improvements including a river walkway.

One Heritage Tower will not only regenerate the existing site and deliver much needed housing, but will also complement Salford City Council’s aspirations for the wider Greengate area including a commitment to contribute to a new public square known as the Market Cross which was the historic centre of the original settlement of Salford.

One Heritage Tower will complete the River Irwell frontage of the emerging Greengate quarter of Salford and act as a centre piece to the cluster of tall buildings that have recently been completed and are continuing to come forward on neighbouring sites.

It is expected that construction will start later this year with an estimated completion date of 2023/4.

Awais Shahid, Director Atzaro Real Estate and Project Director for One Heritage said: “We are delighted that this iconic development has been granted planning approval.
