Construction firm appointed to develop multi-storey car park
Caddick Construction has been appointed to deliver a new multi-storey car park at Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park in Cheshire.
The Caddick team is already on site delivering the £6.8m refurbishment and expansion of No.21 Mereside – a flagship four-storey laboratories and offices, it will also provide a reception area befiting this leading science facility.
Located less than 20 miles from Manchester city centre and within 20 minutes’ drive of Manchester Airport, Alderley Park is home to the UK’s largest single site bioscience campus, alongside 150,000 sq ft of contemporary workspace for forward-thinking, tech-focused companies.
Undertaking the work on behalf of Alderley Park, Caddick is constructing a 2,227 space, seven-storey car park, which will include disabled spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
Materials used will be of a high quality, chosen to reflect the surrounding natural environment.
Clad in vertical feature fins to mirror the cladding of the opposite building, elevations are further broken with a mix of façade treatments to provide visual interest, variation and softness, alongside the adjacent woodland, including a mix of a living green wall and a climbing plant system.
Landscaping work to improve the public realm, green space and pedestrian environment will also be delivered.
