Media firm moves to iconic waterfront landmark following accelerated growth

Plans for the new headquarters

Out-of-home advertising media owner Open Media is moving its headquarters into the famous Royal Liver Building after a year of accelerated growth.

The company has taken on seven new members of staff, including five in Liverpool and two in London.

It says the addition of the London sales team is a considerable step, strengthening existing relationships and curating new ones in the capital.

The firm is rolling out 12 new digital out-of-home sites across the UK this year.

In 2019 it began to branch out of the North West, and will launch impactful screens nationwide throughout 2020.

The Royal Liver Building is one of the most iconic buildings in Liverpool.

Redevelopment of the building will include amenities such as an onsite restaurant, coffee shop and gym. The refurbishment has been described by developers CBRE as a “pivotal moment in the building’s history”.

Open Media managing director, Mike Smith, said: “We are incredibly excited about the move, as starting the business in a shared office space in the Baltic Triangle to moving into the most iconic building in the North West is pretty special.

“We looked around at several office buildings in the city, and when we saw the plans and vision for the scheme we fell in love.

“This office space is going to play a vital role in terms of the growth at Open Media, as it allows us to show off our company culture to our people and clients.”
