Law firm on track to raise £1m for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity

Manchester-based global employment law consultancy, Peninsula, today announced it has raised more than £200,000 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

In March 2019, the consultancy announced a three-year charity partnership with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity with the focus on Peninsula raising £1m for the iMRI Scanner Appeal.

The iMRI Scanner Appeal aims to raise £5m overall to purchase a new intra-operative MRI (iMRI) scanning suite that will revolutionise brain surgery at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Peninsula has built up a strong bond with Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, and employees have already raised thousands through ambitious fundraising activities such as the Great Manchester Run, abseiling a 200ft building and even a trek up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Funds have also been raised through payroll deductions which have been matched pound for pound in corporate donations.

Peter Done, founder and group managing director of Peninsula, said: “We are delighted with our fundraising efforts across the business so far, with Peninsula employees making a real effort to raise an incredible amount of money for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

“To raise the ambitious target of £1m, we will continue to engage in multiple fundraising activities.

“Highlights for 2020 include, Peninsula employees taking part in the Tour de Manc, the Manchester Marathon and a RMCH Charity quiz night.”

He added: “This continued fundraising promotes one of the Peninsula’s core beliefs, the importance of giving back to the community through contributions of time and financial support.”

Peninsula has been working closely with the charity’s corporate fundraising team.
