Engineering firm wins further work with Army, worth up to £6m

AIM-listed specialist services and engineering business TP Group has been awarded a two-year contract worth around £5m by the Ministry of Defence.

The firm, which has an operation in Dukinfield, Cheshire, said it also has an option to extend the contract for a further six months, worth an extra £1m.

TP, a provider of mission-critical solutions for a more secure world, said the contract is to provide multi-disciplinary customer support to the Army HQ’s multibillion-pound Land Environment Tactical Communication and Information Services & Systems (LE TacCIS) Programme.

The work involves a wide range of technical, transformation and programme management activities that will be delivered by TP Group’s consulting and programme services business, building on the continuous support provided by this team since 2016.

Phil Cartmell, TP Group chief executive, said: “The renewal of this contract is an excellent return on all the hard work and technical support provided by the TP Group team over the last three years.

“Army HQ have become a major customer for the group and this work has been at the centre of significant growth in our consulting business.”

He added: “We are very pleased to work with the Army in building a technically sophisticated communications and information service that supports their operations from personnel in the field to decision-making at the command centre.”
