Prime land in Lancashire sold to building firm

Anwyl Homes

National property consultancy Carter Jonas has agreed the sale of 8.91 acres of prime residential development land in Preston to housebuilder Anwyl Homes.

The consultancy reached agreement with Anwyl Homes, with simultaneous exchange and completion taking place earlier this month.

Outline Planning Permission for 72 dwellings and up to 3444 sq ft (320 sqm) gross retail floor space was granted in January 2018.

Consent for Reserved Matters Planning Permission was then secured by Anwyl Homes in January.

The property extends to approximately 8.91 acres in total of generally level agricultural land, which includes a small area allocated for neighbourhood retail use which extends to approximately 0.449 acres.

The site is within the village of Barton, which is approximately five miles north of Preston.

The site fronts on to Garstang Road the main road connecting Preston and Garstang.

The M6 and M55 are easily accessed via the A6, approximately two miles south of the site. The north and south of the site are bound by fields, with a rail line to the west and Garstang Road to the east.

Kathryn Bowers, Surveyor, Carter Jonas, said: “We are proud to have overseen the sale of this development to Anwyl Homes. With such picturesque surroundings and enviable transport connections, we are positive this development opportunity will attract an incredible amount of attention from homeseekers and investors alike.

“Barton village benefits from amenities including a church, public houses, a primary school, village hall and the Barton Grange Hotel, which provides a good range of leisure facilities including a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, restaurant and bar.”
