Contractor secures £320k modular homes deal

Wirral-based builder and project manager Larnook has secured a contract to provide specialist labour to complete 73 modular homes in Blackburn for developer Places for People.

The £320,000 contract will see a team of 15 workers providing specialised finishing to the facades of the pre-fabricated homes at both the factory and on-site.

The contract will facilitate new methods of installation while reducing programme time.

“This is another contract in which we have been able to demonstrate that our project management capabilities can dramatically reduce programme time whilst boosting quality,” said Larnook managing director Chris Evans.

“There’s a big safety gain by having fewer operatives on site for a shorter period, too.

“By simplifying complex issues we can really help main contractors speed up delivery. We’re delighted to be on board,” he added.

The deal is the latest in a series of contracts the company has won.

It is currently completing a scheme on Hope Street in Liverpool re-cladding a student halls of residence to bring it in line with post-Grenfell standards.

The company is also delivering Liverpool’s first container-based retail park on Lodge Lane in Toxteth for developer CanCo. That scheme is also on site.
