Bid to find buyer for pubs group put into administration

Administrators are hopeful of finding a buyer for a Manchester pubs group that has been put into administration.

Wythenshawe-based 16 Hospitality owned and operated four pubs.

Two are in Cheshire – The Partridge in Stretton and The Old Hall Hotel in Frodsham.

The other two are on Anglesey – The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr.

Sarah O’Toole and Jason Bell of the Manchester office of business adviser Grant Thornton have been appointed joint administrators.

The administration took effect as of April 9.

All the pubs are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, and the majority of the workforce has been furloughed.

Sarah O’Toole said: “We are hopeful that we can find a buyer for the businesses despite the current challenges facing the pub and hospitality sector.”
