Agricultural group wins first order in South Africa expansion

Agronomy specialist Levity CropScience is expanding its international reach to South Africa.

The Preston-based R&D business which focuses on the agricultural sector is offering its portfolio of products, which it says results in larger and more resilient yields, to growers following a recent visit by co-managing director David Marks.

He travelled to the the Limpopo Valley to explain to growers how Levity’s products can specifically benefit the avocado market, resulting in the company’s first order from the South African market.

In February 2019, Levity established a partnership with South African Distributor, TP Hentiq, and this order relates to a portfolio of Levity products, including Lono, Sulis, and Albina, being made available to growers in the country.

More product registrations are under way.

Levity’s fertilisers will help growers produce larger and more resilient yields across crops, including avocados, bananas, oranges, blueberries, grapes and macadamia.

Anna Weston, Levity CropScience co-managing director, said: “As well as avocados we are also holding extensive trials in South Africa on oranges, using Sulis.

“The preliminary results are extremely positive and we look forward to working with TP Hentiq to benefit growers across the region.”

She added: “South Africa is the latest addition to Levity’s portfolio of exports, with recent additions including New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Romania.”
