Hotel chain to launch new restaurant and bar and announces expansion to Liverpool

Designs for the new INNSiDE Manchester restaurant

The INNSiDE Manchester Hotel is set to launch its new restaurant and bar, Hideout Lounge & Grill, this Saturday, July 4.

The group behind the hotel has also confirmed its plans to open in Liverpool later this year.

It says its revamped Manchester restaurant and bar, Hideout, will offer locals and visitors a completely new dining experience in the heart of the city centre, following a refresh of the hotel’s current food and beverage offering.

With an array of great food and stylish spaces, Hideout Lounge & Grill aims to create unique experiences designed to suit every occasion.

The launch comes off the back of several new appointments with Scott Brown as cluster director of sales from The Lowry Hotel and Ruth Pollitt joining as hotel sales manager from Eclectic Hotels and The Hut Group.

With a growing portfolio of new hotels in the North, Garry Fortune leads as cluster general manager, previously of Malmaison, Tom Meara as cluster revenue manager from The Principal Hotel, and Gill Screawn as cluster financial controller from Almarose Hotels.

Scott Brown, cluster director of sales at Melia, said: “We’ve been working closely with Paragon Group on Hideout Lounge and Grill, whose team has a track record for delivering creative, compelling dining concepts for hotels on both a national and international scale.

“We’re satisfied that the finished product will offer both our guests and Manchester locals something completely different here on First Street, and we’re really excited to start welcoming people in to the space.”

Mélia has also announced plans to launch new INNSiDE hotels in Newcastle and Liverpool – both set for Winter 2020 openings – and further hotels in the North of the UK earmarked to launch in Spring 2021.

The cluster team will assist with the phased opening of all new hotels.

The Liverpool site will be in the former headquarters of the Liverpool Daily Post & Echo, on Old Hall Street, in the city’s business district, following its acquisition by Dubai-based investor, Select Group, in October 2018.

When the deal was announced, it was revealed the building will comprise a four-star INNSiDEe by Meliá hotel providing 207 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant, conference facilities, gym and rooftop Skybar, along with four new retail units, one leisure unit and two floors of Grade A office space fronting Old Hall Street and Brook Street.

Garry Fortune added: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for INNSiDE by Melia as we look to expand our presence in the North.

“It’s great to be working with such a skilled team, and we are looking forward to bringing the INNSiDE experience to these fantastic UK cities.”

INNSiDE – located on First Street in Manchester city centre – recently launched its Stay Safe with Mélia campaign in response to COVID-19, outlining the health and safety measures that will be implemented once the hotel re-opens.
