Ollerton Leisure plans 18 holes at Mobberley

TWO businessmen are seeking to double the size of a small Cheshire golf course.
Jeremy Hobson and Rupert Webb want to turn Mobberley Golf Club, near Knutsford, into an 18-hole course.
Their business Ollerton Leisure has submitted plans to Cheshire East Council for the 40-hectare site.
Despite 11 objections, some of which relate to neighbouring farms, council officers have recommended the proposals are approved when they are considered by councillors this week.
The plans include an additional nine holes, a driving range, a club house extension and a six-hole training course.
Mr Webb is the founder of Wilmslow’s Freedom Finance Group, while Mr Hobson is a former chief executive of Manchester surveying business Ep2. They bought the club through Ollerton Leisure in 2008.
