Housebuilder submits plans for new homes in Winsford

Plans for Grange Lane

Residential developer Mulbury has submitted plans to build 39 new homes in Winsford on behalf of Jigsaw Homes Group.

If approved, the homes would revitalise a 1.2-hectare site off Grange Lane, formerly used as a builder’s yard and other commercial premises.

The site is situated between existing homes on Grange Lane and the playing fields belonging to The Winsford Academy school.

The proposed £4.1m development is made up of 19 semi-detached homes of two- and three-bedrooms and 20 one- and two-bedroom cottage style flats in a mixture of red brick.

Greg Mulligan, co-founder and director at Mulbury, said: “This is a great opportunity to provide well-built affordable homes in Winsford.

“The development has been carefully designed to be sensitive to existing homes in the area and will bring a fresh new look to this dilapidated site. We’re proud to be partnering with Jigsaw Homes Group to build these quality homes.”

Joanne Bonnington, Assistant director of development at Jigsaw Group, said: “Jigsaw has an ambitious plan for developing new high-quality, affordable properties across the North West in order to help alleviate the housing crisis in the region.

“As such, we are very much looking forward to working with Mulbury to develop new homes in Winsford.”

The development will use the existing site access off Grange Lane with residents and visitors arriving into a cul-de-sac.

Most of the mature trees to the site boundary will be retained as part of the development’s landscaping plan, and all properties will have good-sized rear gardens and off-road parking.

The reserved matters application comes after outline planning consent for the scheme was granted in February 2019.

PWA Planning has advised Mulbury on planning matters, while MPSL Planning and Design is acting as architect for the scheme.

Subject to planning permission, Mulbury would aim to make a start on site in January 2021, with the development scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2022.
