Law firm Davis Blank Furniss has acted for Burnley-based EFS Global on its acquisition of Caistor Distribution Limited for an undisclosed sum.

Predominantly based in Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire, Caistor Distribution provides specialised logistics services, including pallet distribution, general haulage and warehousing, both in the UK and internationally.

EFS Global is one of the North West’s largest freight and haulage groups.

It now has 11 depots and offices across the country and operates its own UK and European road freight fleet.

It also works with selected partners around the world.

This deal is another positive step of EFS’s ongoing growth and acquisition strategy across the UK.

The team at Davis Blank Furniss advised EFS on all aspects of the transaction including legal due diligence and transactional matters.

It was led by Sonio Singh, who is a partner and head of the corporate department, with support from colleagues Lauren Sever and Shiva Shadi (employment) and Jennifer Smith (property).

Mark Jones, EFS Global managing director, said: “Despite the challenges that coronavirus has thrown up, EFS Global has continued to look for acquisition and growth opportunities over the past few months.

“Caistor Distribution is a great addition to our business and will help to drive our service offering even further.”

Sonio Singh said: “We are, once again, delighted to assist the EFS Global team secure yet another key acquisition in its rapid growth strategy.”
