Baywater Healthcare has moved to a larger headquarters after landing a new contract and re-signing a host of long-term contracts worth an estimated £235m.

The business, which identified the new premises earlier this year, will also recruit a further 70 staff as a result of the growth.

The 15,000 sq ft premises in Crewe is home to the company’s healthcare helpline and corporate support functions, and supports the growth experienced by the business over the past 12 months.

The healthcare provider will supply home oxygen services in the North West of England and has extended its service with the NHS in the West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humberside.

The contracts have the potential to continue for 10 years and will increase Baywater Healthcare’s patient numbers by more than 30%.

In addition, the Crewe-based healthcare provider has recently mobilised significant new contracts to provide services to NHS patients in Manchester for ventilation therapy, and in West Yorkshire for people suffering from an increasingly common condition, obstructive sleep apnoea.

Baywater Healthcare has supported the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic, supplying ventilators and oxygen concentrators across the UK in addition to equipping the Nightingale Hospital North West with mobile oxygen.

The business has continued to supply oxygen to patients in their homes throughout the crisis.

Chief executive, Adam Sullivan, said these services will extend and deepen the provider’s patient base of more than 30,000 patients across the UK.

“Over the last three years the team has worked incredibly hard to introduce innovative solutions to this established marketplace – solutions which give patients wider access to our services and provide clinicians and commissioners with more relevant data on patient compliance, aiding cost-effective prescribing and improved outcomes.

“We have delivered on our strategy of securing long-term growth in our core sector, whilst building a diversified portfolio of new healthcare offerings.”

He added: “We will now see further growth in our employee base across the North West and anticipate the need to recruit circa 70 people to deliver the service.

“The move to our new, larger head office in Crewe, along with the expansion of our logistics network in the Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West, will support this, further enabling improved access to the patients who rely on our services.”

Baywater Healthcare was formed in 2013 following a management buyout from Air Products, backed by Duke Street Capital and Souter Investments. The business was sold to French Healthcare specialist, Bastide Le Confort Medical, in January 2018.

Other services offered by the healthcare provider include home oxygen therapy, sleep diagnostics, CPAP treatment and adherence management, telehealth through remote monitoring, ventilation therapy, nebuliser therapy and emergency oxygen.
