Developer targets upcoming area for latest scheme

The proposed scheme

Manchester-based developer CERT Property has submitted plans for 90 apartments.

Known as ‘Osborne Yard’ they will be situated on Oldham Road, Collyhurst, next door to the former Royal Osborne Theatre which was demolished in 2010 and formerly home to acid house club ‘The Thunderdome’.

The development will be CERT’s second scheme on Oldham Road following the scheme POPworks which was completed in 2019 and is being delivered in partnership with Heatley Developments.

Howard Lord, CERT property managing director, said: “The area between Collyhurst and Manchester city centre is entering a transformative period with significant investment and regeneration under way as part of the ‘Northern Gateway.

“Osborne Yard aims to be a leading residential offer in the area and we have done our utmost to be respectful of the historical context and the surrounding neighbourhood.

“We want the development to be a landmark of ‘what’s next, starts here’ for the surrounding area.”

The development boasts plans for a combination of generous outdoor space, bold interiors and innovative carbon reduction technology.

Osborne Yard aims to set a new standard for residential development within the Northern Gateway, acting as a catalyst for future development along Oldham Road.
