Bar and restaurant concept poised for Liverpool One pilot

Grosvenor Europe, which owns the Liverpool One retail centre, has announced the signing of a new locally based dining concept, Boujee Restaurant & Bar.

It will be the brand’s first site and is set to become the city’s ‘most Instagrammable’ bar and restaurant, the property giant said.

The Boujee flagship is scheduled to launch on December 3, at Liverpool One’s Kenyon Steps, subject to the lift of lockdown restrictions.

Spanning a 9,600 sq ft unit set across two floors, Boujee will seamlessly evolve from a family-friendly environment during the day to a buzzing, experiential atmosphere in the evening, serving a range of sharing plates, sushi, signature cocktails, champagne and signature drinks.

A VIP and private dining space on the upper floor will be available for groups of up to 20 people, but booking is essential.

Accommodating up to 250 covers, this debut concept will offer numerous Instagram-friendly photo opportunities for Boujee’s patrons, including a convertible pink car, giant candy area, as well as themed ‘pool party’ and ‘Alice in Boujeeland’ spaces.

The photogenic aesthetic will extend to the finer details of the fit-out, too, with hand-crafted crockery, luxurious linen tableware, premium finishes and hints of pink throughout.

Ahead of its launch at Liverpool One, Boujee has already garnered high-profile support, securing investment from entrepreneur, model, and reality television personality Lystra Adams.

Alison Clegg, director, asset management, Grosvenor Europe, said: “We are committed to maintaining a strong mix of independent operators alongside national brands at Liverpool One.

“As a new local concept, Boujee will certainly be one that draws in visitors from all across the North West as well as tourists from further afield, once COVID-19 restrictions ease.

“Our debut signing of the brand also highlights that, despite the challenging circumstances for the industry, Grosvenor Europe is in a position to support its operators, working with them to help create opportunities for growth as we move towards recovery.”

Lystra Adams, a Boujee investor, said: “Boujee is a vibrant, trend-driven concept packed with personality and truly has something for everyone.

“The process of choosing the location of Boujee’s first site was very selective, but Liverpool One really stood out. It has an unbeatable position within the city and proximity to independent dining operators through to leading chains and brands.

“My investment in Boujee reflects the wider confidence behind the concept and its success at Liverpool One. We will be looking forward to sharing the Boujee experience as soon as we can.”

In line with the Government’s latest national COVID-19 advice, Liverpool One is maintaining its strict health and safety measures to protect restaurant visitors and staff, while simultaneously supporting its portfolio of operators.

Boujee joins a distinctive list of dining concepts at Liverpool One, including Italian-American concept restaurant Smoke and Dough and The Club House by New World Trading Company. In addition, Maggie Fu, the Liverpool-based Asian street food restaurant, is set to open on Liverpool One’s Hanover Street in early 2021.

Metis Real Estate Advisors and Savills acted for Liverpool One. Boujee dealt directly.
