US-based The Cohesive Companies has acquired Manchester company SRO Solutions, for an undisclosed sum.

The Cohesive Companies, located in Pennsylvania, is part of Bentley Systems Inc, the infrastructure engineering software company.

It said the acquisition will help expand digital twin adoption in marine infrastructure.

Established in 2004, Eccles-based SRO Solutions introduced IBM’s Maximo to the maritime industry and helps streamline the management of assets and achieving seamless data replication, on and offshore for an extensive list of blue-chip companies, managing projects across all seven continents.

The company is a Gold Accredited IBM Business Partner, and the only IBM Maximo Business Partner worldwide with the capability to provide unique Maximo replication and zero downtime upgrade solutions.

SRO Solutions employs multidisciplined engineers, consultants, and project managers with extensive experience of delivering Maximo solutions across a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, transportation, utilities, facilities management, and manufacturing.

Tony Lackey, SRO Solutions managing director, said: “We are hugely excited for SRO to join the Cohesive Companies and I would like to thank all the team at SRO for their work in making this deal possible.

“Cohesive is our biggest partner in America and we have worked for many years with the parent company Bentley Systems in the UK.

“We know and trust them well.

“Innovation is at the heart of what SRO does and this new deal with Bentley Systems will see more investment in SRO’s people and technology here in Manchester.

“Fundamental to this is fusing SRO’s expertise in IBM’s Maximo asset management software with Bentley System’s vast expertise.

“Innovations in asset management are driving sweeping changes in the maritime, offshore and energy sectors and, together, we can help more companies embrace digitisation resulting in greater efficiencies and cost savings.”

Cohesive Companies chief executive, Noah Eckhouse, said: “We are excited to welcome Tony Lackey and the SRO team, with their technical expertise and industry knowledge.

“Our goal as an autonomous digital integrator consultancy is to support owner-operators and their supply chains in going digital, contributing to great outcomes for our clients independent of their investment choices among technology vendors.

“Incorporating SRO Solutions’ comprehensive product and service offerings, coupled with their deep experience in working in challenging, low/no bandwidth environments, will help extend our offerings and ability to help clients become more successful.”
