New hub for business park

A NEW £1.2m conference and meeting suite has been added to the 123-acre Birchwood Park estate in Warrington.

The sprawling business park, which is close to Junction 11 of the M62 and within two miles of the M6, will now be one of only two business parks in the region with its own dedicated business centre, the firm said.

Once completed in September, it will contain a 168-seat lecture theatre, seven meeting rooms and a restaurant and cafe. It will primarily be aimed at the park’s 150 tenant businesses, although its location means it can be used for other businesses for off-site meetings.

There will also be 4,575 sq ft of office space created above the the new hub.

MEPC said that it had spent more than £50m on Birchwood Park since acquiring it from the UK Atomic Energy Authority in 1988. However, managing director Johnathan Walsh said that the new centre is unique.

“The centre plays a vital role in the life of the Park and also for the wider Birchwood business and residential communities.

“It is a very strong part of our business proposition in terms of attracting  new occupiers and  retaining our existing customers.

“Other regional ‘out of town’ business parks just cannot offer this quality of choice and environment to their occupiers,” he said.
