Appointments: Rawkins in at Harrison Drury; Deloitte; Investec & more

LANCASHIRE’S Harrison Drury Solicitors has appointed well-known professional Bob Rawkins – the former senior partner of accountancy firm Bowmans – to its business development function.
Rawkins continued to work for RSM Tenon after its 2007 acquisition of Bowmans until stepping down in February.
Harrison Drury managing partner John Chesworth said: “As the firm continues to grow, Bob’s vast experience of the professional services sector and his contacts in the business community will be invaluable in raising our profile with the region’s professional intermediaries.”

ACCOUNTANTS and advisers Deloitte has boosted its nuclear expertise with the appointment of Chris Harrop, to head up its national nuclear capital programmes team.
He joins from Horizon Nuclear Power where he was a project director. Harrop will lead a team of 100 nuclear experts, based in the North West office and across the UK.
He will work alongside Jenn Hazlehurst, head of the firm’s North West’s Energy and Resources team and another member of the firm’s nuclear leadership team, in delivering key nuclear projects both in the region, the UK and globally.
He has experience in China, a key area for energy and infrastructure projects.

PETER Allen has joined the Liverpool office of Investec Wealth & Investment as a financial planner.
Allen, 32, has moved from Barnett Waddingham, an independent firm of actuaries and consultants, where he spent eight years. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Chris Aitken, head of Investec Wealth & investment’s UK financial planning team said: “Financial planning is a growth area for the business and the UK team has a particular focus on using its specialist knowledge of the ‘at retirement’ market – a critical and growing demographic. Peter joins at a time of real growth and provides a strong addition to the Liverpool team.”

IRLAM-based Mutech, a electronics design and manufacturing consultancy, has appointed Mark Pitts as design manager.
An electronics engineering graduate from UMIST, Mark’s experience includes 15 years working within the design teams of various specialised electronics companies. He said: “My aim is to help Mutech become the leading centre of excellence particularly for intrinsic safety in hazardous areas.”
