Portman Travel expands sports offering with latest acquisition
Portman Travel Group has continued expansion into the sports market with its latest acquisition.
The Manchester-based group has bought Inspiresport, a £10.5m turnover company with its head office in Cardiff.
The latest deal follows Portman’s successful launches in 2019 of Clarity Sports, which provides team and business travel services for professional clubs across a range of sports, and Sportsbreaks.com, the sports travel experience operator aimed at fans and consumers.
Inspiresport, led by CEO Steve Butchart, is a school sports and travel specialist delivering sports development programmes across football, rugby, netball, cricket and hockey.

Steve Butchart will join Rob Slawson, director of sports travel at Clarity, in driving the sports part of the business forward.
