Legal recruitment specialist set for record results

Specialist legal recruitment consultancy Realm Recruit has reported record quarterly financial results and is on course to achieve £1m in revenue this year.

With legal recruitment having been hit hard by the pandemic last spring, Altrincham-based Realm’s 2020 turnover dropped to £375,000 from £405,000 in 2019, which resulted in a break-even position compared with a pre-tax profit of £50,000 the previous year.

However, after carefully managed expansion, having doubled headcount over the past 12 months, Realm’s turnover for the first quarter of 2021, at circa £250,000, is almost three times higher than the same period last year, with pre-tax profits at £80,000 for the period.

With future agreed business taken into account, Realm is on course to achieve turnover of £1m for the calendar year, and have its most successful year to date.

With further investment into expanding the business planned later this year, pre-tax profit for the year as a whole is forecast to come in at £200,000.

Since Realm launched just over five years ago it said it has advocated a refreshing and ethical approach to legal recruitment.

Each of its recruitment consultants operate within a specialist market area and it is this ultra-niche approach that sets Realm apart from its competitors and has helped to drive its success.

Director, Duane Cormell, said: “At Realm, our vision is to become the leading specialist legal recruitment consultancy in the regional market, whilst recognising that when it comes to life-work balance, life is the more important of the two.

“This year, we’ve introduced a number of initiatives, including Flexi-Fridays, our version of a four-day week, to ensure that we offer unrivalled flexibility to our team.

“These fantastic results undoubtedly vindicate this decision and I’m very excited to see what the next 12 months hold for Realm.”
