Warrington-based Tactus Group, specialists in consumer technology, is expanding its reach to US markets.

It will be available at US electronics retailer Best Buy in a move that sees huge expansion for the group’s products across the US.

The Windows 10 GeoBook laptops are portable and lightweight, and are designed to be slim, compact and affordable. The GeoBook is the firm’s core range of Windows 10 laptops, available in a range of sizes and designed to enable remote working.

The range includes the GeoBook 120 Minecraft Edition, which will be available in select Best Buy stores, as well as on BestBuy.com.

The laptop is optimised to play the popular video game, which had 140 million monthly active users to date, and comes loaded with the game, as well as bonus content included for GeoBook users.

Alongside the gaming experience, the laptop has been designed to support study and work, providing a free one-year subscription to Microsoft 365 personal, as well as built in Windows 10 S Mode security.

The news will provide Tactus with greater access into the US consumer electronics market, which is predicted to be worth $442bn in 2021.

Scott Brenchley, Tactus Group chief executive, said: “Best Buy is known for its commitment to providing quality technology products, so it is a fantastic achievement to be able to announce this availability with our GeoBook range.

“The deal will provide us with a hugely valuable route into the thriving US consumer electronics market, and will help us with our ambitions to grow the Tactus and Geo brands globally in the coming years.”

Alvaro Celis, vice president, device partner sales, Microsoft, said: “As remote/hybrid learning and work are unstoppable trends in the new normal, and as we engage in this new paradigm, the demand for personal computers will continue to increase.

“The GeoBook portfolio offers Best Buy customers a colourful range of well priced, high quality PCs that deliver great value for their customers. Geo has developed an outstanding reputation for producing innovative, sleek and stylish products at affordable prices, and I am excited to see their expansion in the US market.”
