Designer appointed on Manchester’s second Malmaison hotel
A Manchester-based interior design consultancy has secured a contract with Green Lane (Properties) Stockport, and Malmaison to work on the development of the city’s new hotel, Malmaison Manchester Deansgate.
Green Lane is developing the building which will be occupied by Malmaison, a boutique hotel brand currently operating 17 hotels across the UK’s most exciting cities, with Koncept ID appointed to provide interior design services for its latest project, which will see the brand launch its second Malmaison in Manchester.
Koncept ID will be responsible for the design and fit-out of Malmaison Manchester Deansgate’s 70 bedrooms and suites as well as public areas including the reception, Chez Mal restaurant and bar and Sky Bar on the seventh floor with views across Albert Square.

The hotel – due for completion in Autumn 2022 – will be located in the heart of Albert Square within walking distance of some of Manchester’s most popular bars, restaurants, entertainment venues and shops.
Jenny added: “Our city has a rich history and culture and this will shine through in the hotel’s interiors. We’re drawing upon local references to create a really unique space that celebrates the very best of Manchester.”

Construction started in early 2021 and is being carried out by sister practice Leach Rhodes Walker Architecture and GMI Construction Group for Green Lane.
