Law firm advises on record breaking £1.5bn worth of deals

Law firm Shoosmiths and its Manchester corporate team have announced a record-breaking 2021 – advising on over £1.5bn worth of deals.

Led by partners Tim Jackson-Smith and Andrew Millar, the corporate team has advised on a range of private equity, public and private mergers and acquisitions and venture capital transactions.

Notable clients for the Manchester office include home building group Berkley de Veer, Manchester-based cloud date software developer Matillion and entrepreneurial firm MIP Holdings.

High profile cases have also included:

  • Advising  MIP Holdings on its £m acquisition of fashion retailer French Connection Group PLC
  • Advising Berkeley DeVeer on its acquisition of Avant Homes Group, one of the UK’s leading residential property developers
  • Advising Alcidion, the Australian listed medical tech business, on its acquisition of Silverlink PCS Software limited, one of the most widely used patient administration system providers in the NHS
  • Advising Foresight Group on the disposal of its interest in Hedges Direct Group
