Law firm to reinvigorate former newspaper office in latest expansion

An Oldham law firm is expanding to take the former Oldham Chronicle offices in Saddleworth.

Pearson Solicitors and Financial Advisers will move into the former newspaper office on the High Street in Uppermill, Saddleworth.

Work will take place over the next 12 months to transform the High Street site to include new offices, as well as a meeting room hub which local businesses will be able to hire.

Pearson has had a presence in the area for generations.

Director, Richard Eastwood, said: “We have so many Saddleworth-based clients and staff members who live locally that it was an easy decision to move back into the area. We have over 70 staff now and as our business grows and develops we wanted to provide great offices facilities as we look to recruit more experienced solicitors and young trainees.

“Having serviced meeting rooms is something we recognised as being needed in the area and the bespoke Pearson business suite right at the centre of the village will provide just that.

“With more and more people working from home having a great place on your doorstep for those important face to face meetings is a bonus. Privacy for your meeting, good Wi-Fi, somewhere to park, a warm welcome and consistently high levels of service across all areas will be standard.”

He added: “We will have a full service legal team based in Uppermill covering both business and personal law and look forward to being part of, and contributing to, the local economy, putting Uppermill firmly on the professional business map.”

The building will be given a new frontage, landscaping, a facelift and sandblasting, as well as parking for staff and visitors and electrical vehicle charge points.

Whittaker Design in Oldham is helping the Pearson team visualise its development.

The new Saddleworth office is the fourth addition to the Pearson group. The company has a presence in Oldham, North Manchester and Failsworth.
