Proposals to build nine luxury homes in North Merseyside as part of a £4.3m scheme have been revealed.

Liverpool-based housebuilder Hassett Homes has exchanged contracts on a 1.2 acre plot on Wheatstone Road in the suburb of Formby.

Situated close to the River Alt, the site already has planning permission, but Hassett has submitted amendments so it can build its onw popular house types.

If given the go-ahead work would be able to start in spring.

Jamie Blennerhassett, managing director of Hassett Homes, said: “Our ambition is to build nine large family homes along the lines of our recent scheme in Eccleston, which proved extremely popular.

“This will be our first development in North Merseyside and we are looking forward to introducing the Formby market to our popular home designs.”

The £4.3m scheme is being designed by Stephen Lavin from RAL Architects, with Elluc the appointed project engineers.

Laura Harrild, from lawyers Glenville Walker, advised Hassett Homes on the acquisition.

The housebuilder recently acquired a site for 33 homes in Northwich.

Tower Grange Finance funded both acquisitions and Blennerhassett says he has cash available to support further site acquisitions.

“We have an excellent partnership with Tower Grange and are in discussions about the acquisition of a number of other sites in the North West.

“The market remains strong, despite some economic headwinds and we are always seeking well located sites in good suburbs across the region.”
