Northern women celebrated in annual Power list and Future list
Northern Power Women has today revealed more than a 100 individuals across the North who have been named in its annual ‘Power List.’
The list celebrates those “who challenge the norm and use their influence and power for good,” while a separate Future List recognises the leaders and change makers of the future who are already making a difference in their communities.
This year’s Northern Power Women Future List and Power List features Ann Cairns, Executive Vice Chair of Mastercard, Professor Erinma Bell MBE, CEO of Carisma Services, Sheona Southern, Managing Director of Marketing Manchester and Managing Director of Robert Half, Leyla Tindall.
Zoe Burns-Shore, CCO of Yorkshire Water, Metro Mayor Tracey Brabin and Professor Shirley Congdon, Vice Chancellor of the University of Bradford have also been added to the list.
The Future List also reflects the budding business community across with names including Lisa Maynard-Atem, who has recently accepted a new role as Director of Marketing and Inclusion at Acacia Training, Co-Founder of She Leads for Legacy’s Afiya Amesu, and Kahmila Brown, User Researcher at Deloitte.
Women of influence are also celebrated on this year’s Power List with Katy Leeson, the former Social Chain Managing Director, Dr Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Partner from The University of Law, joins the Future List, along with Lynda Moyo, Head of What’s On and Emerging Content at Reach PLC.
Simone Roche MBE, founder and CEO of Northern Power Women, said: “Once again this year I have been absolutely amazed at the outstanding number and quality of nominations we’ve received and it has been hugely impressive to see the range of organisations represented – from sport, media and tech to influential academics and entrepreneurs.
“I’ve always known there were incredible role models in and from the North, but after receiving 1400 nominations, I have to say that even I was astounded. Our incredible category panels made up of 70 judges had a difficult – but inspiring – time identifying the shortlisted nominees.”
Those on this year’s Power and Future Lists, as well as the individuals and organisations who have been shortlisted in the 11 award categories, will be celebrated on Monday 21 March 2022 at Manchester Central Convention Centre.
