First interior images of £8m build to rent scheme revealed

Interior view of jobcentre scheme

Salford-based build-to-rent developer, Placefirst, has revealed the first glimpse of interiors at its £8m Longsight apartment scheme, which has been named ‘Elevate’.

A former jobcentre is being transformed into 53 high-spec apartments which should be ready for residents to move into in spring.

Construction of a new top floor has added extra space to the scheme which involved a total redesign.

Each apartment features a brand new high-spec kitchen and bathroom, timber-effect flooring, plush bedroom carpets and large windows allowing an abundance of natural light. All apartments will be furnished, including velvet sofas, on trend dining room furniture, and bedroom packs.

Work began on the scheme in 2021. It will provide a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bed apartments. The rooftop extension accommodates eight apartments, with views of the Manchester city skyline.

Placefirst worked with Project 3 Architects to repurpose and transform the former jobcentre, paying close attention to sustainability, energy efficiency and modern design.

Ian Chatburn, customer experience director at Placefirst, said: “We are thrilled to reveal the name and first glimpse of the show apartments at ‘Elevate’. Our vision was to give this former jobcentre a new lease of life – we have created an exciting apartment scheme with high quality finishes, which our new residents will be proud to call home.”
