Distribution deal secures 70 warehouse jobs and will lead to 26 new roles

A national pet chain’s extension of logistics services will secure 70 jobs at a Wigan warehouse, and create 26 roles there over the next year, as the retailer opens more stores.

Jollyes announced it has extended its logistics partnership with supply chain specialist Wincanton for two years.

Wincanton has provided warehouse and distribution services to Jollyes across Great Britain and Northern Ireland since 2019, from its multi-user warehouse in Wigan.

Now, the new deal will see the site store, pick and deliver more than three million cases of products per year for Jollyes, repleshing its estate of more than 70 stores and fulfilling more than 7,000 deliveries each year.

Jollyes also has plans to open 20 new stores over the next year, together with further acquisitions, leading to new job opportunities at the Wigan warehouse.

As part of the extension to services out of Wigan, eight lorries sporting new Jollyes livery will hit the roads in May.
