Plans for retirement living village receives strong interest from Burscough residents

A planning application has been submitted for a retirement living village at Yew Tree Farm, in Burscough, West Lancashire.

McCarthy Stone is behind the scheme which proposes 48 retirement apartments and 19 bungalows in landscaped gardens and with on-site parking provision.

The land has been allocated for new homes, and the scheme offers properties for private sale, rent and part-rent, part-buy.

Situated near the centre of Burscough, the site is also well served by local bus and rail connections, connecting the development to a range of local destinations and the wider region.

McCarthy Stone has undertaken a pre-application public consultation with the local community on its proposals, including a virtual exhibition running during June, which more than 2,000 residents, businesses and stakeholders were invited to view.

Local people have already expressed an interest in moving into the development once it is completed, subject to planning, with others welcoming the provision of bungalows.
