New US platform for software company behind video signatures

Steven Tallant, CEO of Videosign

A company that has developed software to allow people to confirm their identity online has launched a new platform for the US market.

Liverpool-based Videosign has created Videosign Notary to offer a new way for American professionals to witness documents remotely.

In the US, notaries public are appointed to act as impartial witnesses to the signing of legal documents, while title agents are responsible for verifying and certifying property and land ownership.

Both professions are required to comply with ‘Remote Online Notarisation’ (RON) regulations when witnessing and signing documents online.

The RON process allows notaries to notarise documents remotely in an efficient paperless process using electronic signatures alongside other security measures such as identity verification and video recordings.

Videosign Notary’s browser-based online meeting platform has the facility to record video and other evidence like IP addresses and timestamps during the remote notarisation process while the  platform’s AI-powered facial recognition software compares an individual with their passport or driving licence photo to confirm their identity.

Videosign CEO Steven Tallant said: “Videosign has been in use in the US for some time, and we created Videosign Notary to make remote online notarisation more accessible to individuals and more cost-effective for notaries public and title agents.

“Our service offers unprecedented levels of security and confidence for anyone using electronic signatures, and this new platform combines these features with a low monthly cost allowing the notaries more flexibility and control over how they meet their clients remotely, and how they bill for their work.”
