Warrington development secures first pre-let

Birchwood Park has secured the first pre-let of the latest phase of its Cavendish Warehouse development.

Specialised diagnostics business Werfen will double its space at the Warrington site to 35,000 sq ft once the development is completed early next year. It has been based at Birchwood Park since 2016.

Werfen is creating a dedicated distribution and logistics centre, which will have three times the previous storage capacity.

Werfen’s general manager Richard Hames said the expansion will allow the business to process deliveries to customers more efficiently “as well as supporting our business-wide sustainability objectives”.

He added: “Our warehouse space at Birchwood Park has helped to support the evolution of our business over the years due it’s ideal location in the heart of the North West, as well as looking after the workplace wellbeing of our staff with its many facilities and wellbeing initiatives.”

Birchwood Park’s commercial director Martin O’Rourke believes the new development “incorporates all the lessons from previous developments to offer modern facilities to help attract and retain staff for our occupiers”.

He added: “More importantly, we have been able to incorporate within the design the latest measures to help Werfen achieve its sustainability goals.”
