Is your business a great place to work?

Growing and expanding a successful business is much more than achieving strong revenues and profits.

How a business attracts, retains, and engages with its workforce is crucial to how a company performs long term.

From flexible working to paid parental leave to even simple perks such as bringing your dog to work, free meals, and volunteering days, can help create an environment where employees want to work and develop.

Good engagement can lead to attracting and inspiring great people at all levels.

Our North West Business of the Year Awards aims to recognise those companies that show they care about their employee experience.

The Employer of the Year award recognises the private or public sector organisation that excels for its workforce.

This can be demonstrated through investment in skills and training, innovations around flexible working, workplace wellbeing initiatives, support for groups and individuals.

Last year’s winner included Bolton-headquartered Love Energy Savings, which took a conscious decision to focus on business culture and working practices to transform the perception of the company from a ‘run-of-the-mill workplace to a dynamic, progressive employer that provides rewarding careers for its young employees.’

The biggest change in the business included the introduction of a new employment policy – Flexible-Flexible – which gave staff the freedom to set their own hours AND choose where they work too. The company said this was a ‘roaring success’ and contributed to a 250% rise in new job applicants and 60% increase in employee retention.

If you’re a company that has taken major steps in creating the right environment for staff to develop and thrive, then get in touch.
