Tanker business motors on with £10m of orders

Suttons Tankers in Powders Sector

Suttons Tankers have won new orders totalling £10m within the industrial powders sector.

One of the most significant wins in this sector is the Alpek Polyester business operating out of its Stockton depot, loading PET from Wilton and delivering product across the UK.

This product is business critical and is widely used in the FMCG industry for beverage bottles and food containers.

Suttons Tankers have also renewed the INEOS PVC contract for a further 3 years and have subsequently won a new contract with INEOS Olefins and Polymers, strengthening its longstanding partnership with the INEOS brand. The Sabic contract was also renewed for a further 2 years.

The procurement of a new site in Featherstone has been material to the recent wins, enabling Suttons to offer a trunking operation which adds value by bringing efficiencies to its customers.

The introduction of a new depot in Featherstone in Yorkshire is part of Suttons’ plans to expand its footprint in the UK to facilitate further growth in the powders sector.

The company has also invested in a new fleet, including 13 new powder tractors and 27 new powder tanks, with a total capital investment of £4m.

To continue the growth in this area, Suttons Tankers have appointed Stephen Cooper to the position of Commercial Manager for Powders with over 35 years’ sector experience in various roles from driving to management.

Michael Cundy, Managing Director of Suttons Tankers, commented on the recent growth: “The recent wins, supported by our appointment of Stephen Cooper to head up the sector, demonstrates our commitment to making further advancements, and providing new and existing customers with bespoke solutions and outstanding levels of service.”
