Expansion by a Manchester accountancy firm into Canada will yield sales of more than £550,000 this year, it has revealed.

Clear Start Accountants CEO, entrepreneur Fiaz Ashraf, opened Clear Start Debt and Budget Services LLC in Toronto in 2021 and, following a recent investment of more than one million Canadian Dollars by his company, has expanded the operation there to a head count of 14 people.

Recruitment is under way to accommodate additional growth.

The Canadian arm, similar to the main UK operation, offers budgeting services to customers, to support clients in managing their outgoings, and offset the rapidly rising cost of living which is being experienced on a global scale.

The growth of the business in Canada mirrors the significant success enjoyed by Clear Start Accountants in the UK, which, after establishing in only 2019, saw sales of £4.2m in 2022.

Fiaz Ashraf said: “We entered Canada only two years ago, and our unique monthly budget offering and bespoke client software devised here in the UK, is proving a roaring success.

“To enhance our offering further in Toronto, we have further ambitions to become a self-contained Insolvency practice over the next 12 months, therefore have firm plans in place for further expansion.”

Clear Start Accountants boasts an employee base of more than 50 people, and operates from its contemporary headquarters in Universal Square, Manchester, as well as from offices in Stockport and Canada.
