North East housebuilder, Ashberry Homes, plans to build 59 new homes in Bolton after acquiring land off Academy Way, Lostock, for an undisclosed sum.

With planning permission granted, Ashberry will transform the 3.78 acre site into a residential development known as The Academy, paying homage to the former use of the site, which was once part of Bolton Wanderers’ training ground.

Ashberry will deliver a selection of three- and four-bedroom homes, incorporating a range of semi-detached and detached houses.

There will also be nine two-bedroom affordable homes available.

Work will start on site next month, with a showhome scheduled to open in early 2024.

Grace Yarlett, sales director at Ashberry Homes, sais: “We are thrilled to have acquired land in Bolton and receive planning consent for The Academy.

“Located less than four miles from Bolton town centre in the thriving and sought-after suburb of Lostock, The Academy benefits from great local amenities, highly regarded schools and excellent transport links.

“We are very much looking forward to build starting on site this month, providing the perfect collection of well-designed, modern homes for discerning homebuyers, with the first properties released for sale in early September.”

In addition to the new development, Ashberry has made several significant financial contributions to the locality, including £195,860 towards secondary school education and £83,072 towards public open space.
