Housing scheme for 280 homes receives green light

Preston City Council’s planning committee has given the green light to proposals for 280 new homes.

The proposed scheme, designed by Bloor Homes and supported by eScape Urbanists, received unanimous approval from the committee in what is the sixth largest draft allocation within the area’s emerging Joint Local Plan.

The new development, at Old Hall Farm, off Riversway, will see a mix of residences, including detached, semi-detached, maisonettes and terraced properties.

Comprising a combination of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, 84 of the 280 homes will be affordable.

As part of the plans it is understood that 40% of the site will be publicly accessible open space, with approximately 250 trees planted.

Duncan Wenham, an associate in the Planning North team at Savills, who secured the planning permission, said: “We are very pleased to have secured this decision and welcome the planning committee’s decision to approve these plans which will, undoubtedly, add to a pipeline of quality homes that will benefit the local community for many years to come.”
