Approval for Knowsley industrial scheme capable of supporting 150 jobs

Huyton Trade Park

A new industrial development in Knowsley will be capable of supporting up to 150 jobs.

Acting on behalf of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, the Derwent Group has secured planning permission for a new 83,000 sq ft industrial scheme on Huyton Trade Park.

The scheme is situated on the site of a former biscuit factory, and will comprise 24 high spec, modern units ranging in size from 1,200 sq ft up to 7,500 sq ft.

The park is located close to the Tarbock junction providing direct access to the M62 and M57 motorways.

Andy McCormack, senior asset manager at the Derwent Group, said: “This is a scheme of major significance for the area, it will create an economic boost of circa £5.8m per annum and we are pleased to have secured planning in such a timely manner.

“We recognised that there is a real gap in this regional market for modern industrial space and the scheme will address this deficit, providing a much needed solution for local and national occupiers looking to move into the area.”

The Derwent Group is set to appoint a construction contractor for the scheme and plans to start on site later this year.
