Investment vehicle, BGF, has reported a strong first half in the North West.

The organisation has completed new investments, delivered an expanded team, as well as continued growth in its portfolio.

BGF invested £9m into Voicescape, a Manchester-based provider of communications software for social housing providers and local authorities.

The investment is being used to expand Voicescape’s suite of technology products and reach more customers in the public sector software.

Founded in 1998, Voicescape now works with more than 50 registered social housing providers and local authorities across the UK.

KCA Holdings, a fast-growing technology group based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, also received a £5.3m minority investment from BGF in March to accelerate its software services and drive new growth opportunities.

The investor has also continued to expand its North West team following the appointments of Jill Williams and Helen Bartley.

Jill works closely with entrepreneurs and business owners across the North West and Midlands, managing portfolio company investments, delivering and maximising value creation as a board member, and preparing portfolio companies for long term growth.

Helen is responsible for identifying and connecting the investment team with North West-based entrepreneurs and management teams looking for investment.

Neil Inskip, head of BGF in the North West and Midlands, said: “BGF was set up to support entrepreneurs to realise their ambitions for growth and we’re proud to continue to back so many businesses who see opportunities for expansion.

“We believe our mission is more important than ever and the deals we’ve done so far this year demonstrate the resilience of entrepreneurs in the region. We look forward to partnering with more business owners to meet their goals.”
